ABOUT Fortress basketball

Fort Hunt Fortress basketball was founded in 2024 to provide additional basketball skills development for Fort Hunt, VA youth basketball players.

Our mission is to empower young athletes through dedicated fundamental skill development, positive coaching, and the cultivation of resiliency both on and off the court. We strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment where players can grow not only as athletes but also as individuals. By emphasizing the importance of hard work, perseverance, and teamwork, we aim to instill valuable life lessons that will serve our players well beyond the game of basketball. Together, we are building a community of strong, confident, and resilient young women who are ready to take on any challenge that comes their way.

I grew up in southern Indiana with a basketball in my hand since I was 6 years old. I played for competitive AAU programs, my high school team, and in college. Besides the basketball skills I developed, playing sports also taught me invaluable life lessons - working hard, determination, being a good teammate, leadership, and resiliency. I apply these life skills everyday as a mom, wife, and as a federal law enforcement agent. My goal is for each girl to grow as a basketball player and a human.

Terri Pedregon

My love of basketball began in 5th grade when I first stepped onto the court. Basketball quickly became my passion, and little did I know that this game would shape my life in profound ways. I grew up in a small town in west Texas and played on travel teams in high school dreaming of bigger stages. That dream became a reality when I received a full athletic scholarship to play for the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). Through basketball, I learned that leadership isn’t just about stats—it’s about lifting your teammates, pushing boundaries, and leaving a legacy. My coaching philosophy centers around empowering these young girls. Beyond the Xs and Os, I want them to discover their inner strength, resilience, and teamwork. We’re not just building basketball players; we’re shaping confident, compassionate individuals.
